So much for "Sanctuary City" - within the past month, three cases of Latinos being kidnapped have been documented in the Mission District of San Francisco. The individuals were all set free after they were robbed, although some did have to go to the hospital to treat wounds received in the ordeals. Many speculate that they are targeted because illegal immigrants tend to travel with cash, and because of their fear of reporting crime to local authorities. However, the most recent case has gained media attention, in which a 27-year-old Latino male was picked up at 20th and Bryant streets, forced into the car and ordered to hand over all his money. When he refused, he was hit over the head with a blunt object and then dumped off at 25th and Vermont streets.
