Probably because I grew up in San Francisco, which is both earthquake-country and close to the water. I definitely think the tsunami of 2005 plays a lot into our fear of that, too. I was just standing looking at the ocean and a wall of water that was approaching. No one was running... we all knew we were gonna die. I always wake up right before it hits.
